About the Artist

Ever since I can remember, I have loved beautiful jewelry and gemstones. My mom always wore jewelry and I thought she was so pretty. Then when I was a teen, my father began making  jewelry as a hobby. He took me to gem shops, shows, and once even a garnet mine where we dug for little pieces to make into rings.  I loved each piece of jewelry he created and wished I could do the same.  Now years later, with my sons all grown up, I find that I not only have the desire, but also the time to spend on this passion.

It all started with a missionary trip to Brazil.  I made salvation bracelets with the children there.   After returning home, I wanted to wear a salvation bracelet as a memento of the trip, but it had to be something prettier than a leather strap and plastic pony beads.   I decided to try to make one with sterling silver beads and Swarovski crystals.   I loved it, and so did my friends.

Before I knew it, I was in business!  I chose the name “Gentle Spirit Creations” because even though this jewelry is beautiful and will make us prettier on the outside, what really counts is what is on the inside. True beauty comes from a life that is being lived to please God, from someone who is becoming more like Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 3:3-4 says, ‘Your beauty should…be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.’

I love natural gemstones and thank God for making such beauty for us to enjoy. I hope that my jewelry will bring pleasure and peacefulness, a Gentle Spirit, to those who wear it.
